One mid-summer day in 2013 found me and my camera aboard a boat.
We were just a bit offshore from the Monona Terrace; our craft pacing while I captured images of two youngsters kayaking to and fro for the better part of the early morning. All of this in a highly collaborative effort to capture just one small moment that would serve to perfectly encapsulate what it means to experience Madison in Summer.
The Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau used a few images from that day in an extensive ad campaign that ran in a multitude of online and print publications across the country, from USA Today to the Chicago Tribune.
As exciting as that was, we’re equally excited to announce today that one of the images captured that day was recently selected for the cover of the Official Spring/Summer 2014 Madison Visitors Guide.
We consider that mid-summer day’s shoot to be a successful one. Not only do the images serve as reminders of what’s in store for us Madisonians as we wait out the end of the bleakness, but also as a calling to all of you out there wherever you are to come here to Madison. You need to experience what Madison is in spring & summer. You need to get out on those beautiful lakes.
